F.A.Q.
How many books are going to be in the series?
Right now I’ve got four planned. Stories always grow in my head though, so a fifth one really wouldn’t surprise me.
When will the next book be out?
I’m busy working on the third book at the moment. Look for it sometime in the October/November period. And keep checking back for an official release date.
What kind of a name is Cresta?
Um...the best kind ever. Shut up!
Why is Cresta from a place called Crestview? Isn’t that stupid?
I mean, maybe. I’m a Georgia boy and I wanted to infuse some of that flavor into the story. I also wanted it to be set in a small town, and Crestview fits that bill.
Wait a sec. You’re a guy?
This is true.
Isn’t it weird to write from a girl’s POV (point of view)?
But Joss Whedon can do it and everything’s okay –kicks dirt- Seriously, I don’t think it’s weird at all. And hopefully I’m doing a good enough job that you guys agree with me.
Tell me something about you that I don’t know.
That’s more of a command than a question, but okay. I hate onions. Can’t stand the vile things. Hate the texture, hate the flavor, hate the way they pop up in dishes with NO warning. Like, in a restaurant, when you're reading an entree description, they mention the peas, the peppers, the cabbage, but nowhere are onions mentioned, but the dish shows up with onions 'a-plenty anyway. I swear, there’s an underground onion movement somewhere that’s the cause of all this.
If I send you an email, will you answer it?
Yep. Sure will. It might take me a day or two, but I answer all my emails.
If I send you my manuscript, will you read it and tell me what you think?
I wish I could, but right now I just don’t have the time or that. I’m pulling for you though.
What advice would you give up and coming authors?
I don’t think I’m successful enough to answer that question. But some good advice for life in general is not to give up. Believe in yourself and your work and the rest will likely fall into place, assuming you don’t mind hard work.
Where did you come up with the Bloodmoon?
I just made it up. But apparently there is a Blood Moon end of the world prophecy. I had no idea and I don’t subscribe to it. But it is there.
Do you believe in fate or free will?
Yes.
But that doesn’t answer the question.
I know.
Is there any chance for a Fixed Points spinoff series?
There’s always a chance.
How’d you get so adorable?
Mom, get out of here.
